Wabi sabi gate

A rusted gate guards the entrance to the connecter trail to Chesebro Canyon. As most gates on Chesebro it seems to serve no purpose except to provide a sense of space to the open space and remind us that there was once was a ranch back here. Now it's open space, trails, quails, coyotes and beetles. Such a blessing. I notice this gate only on the way back, not on the way out. Maybe because on the way back its downhill. It stands to the side marking a passage to the last two miles.
