Skip and jump

A bit of singletrack in an otherwise long stretch of fire road at Malibu Creek State Park. This is a lovely little gift about 1.5 miles into the trail. It doesn't last long, but it is a delightful little stretch covered by trees, riddled with rocks. To keep my pace I have to hop, skip and jump over the rocks. And when I'm hopping and skipping I can't help but laugh out loud. It is sooo much fun! Especially when I know the singletrack is going to end soon. It's like having dessert in the middle of your meal. What a great idea! The singletrack ends at the Mash site where the leftover remnants of the long running(?) tv show sit in the middle of a canyon. It's a surreal site and a little sobering right after the hopping and skipping on the singletrack.
