Dear Deer,

You are elegant and unafraid and slightly curious.

After an epic run through a foggy canyon floor up to a clear mountain top, I passed two elegant deer towards the end of the out and back run. They were unafraid, unphased and unconcerned by my presence. I've had this experience a few times, but as soon as I reach for my phone to take a picture they disperse. Not today. Today they just continued gazing at me with their big soft eyes.
