Sammy's Run

Dear Sammy,

You are a sweet little dog who loves to wander and explore. I saw you at the beginning of my run just as you crossed the street without looking. It's a busy street so I was immediately concerned. I called to you and you graciously sauntered over. Fortunately you had on a collar with your name and a phone number. I called the number and a gentleman picked up and told me your address and said he was presently on a hike. He did not seem too concerned, but assured me you would head back home. I scooped you up and took you back home. Of course, you did not stay there. You crossed the street once again and plopped down in the neighbor's yard. I continued my run, but made sure to swing back around and check to be sure you were safely at home and not in the street.
