Dear Kahakapao,
You are still my all time favorite trail run with 6 miles of single track and pockets of lush feathery ferns, sturdy, shiny ginger and Cook pines. And every once in awhile a heart carved into the eucalyptus. Somehow these disappear quickly (maybe because the bark peels off?). But then another one appears not too many months later. Kahakapao inspires love.
