Dressings
Tahini Dill Sauce
-
3 Tbs olive oil
-
1/4 cup (60 g) tahini
-
1/4 cup (62.5 ml) water
-
1 tbsp lemon juice
-
1/2 tsp (0.5 tsp) dried dill
-
1/4 tsp (0.25 tsp) salt
-
1/4 tsp (0.25 tsp) cayenne
Whisk together then shake in a mason jar. this will be thick, perfect for tossing with romaine lettuce. If you need a thinner dressing add some lemon juice or water.
Mustard Dressing
-
3 Tbs olive oil
-
1 Tbs maple syrup
-
1 Tbs homemade mustard
-
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Whisk together then shake in a mason jar. this will be thick, perfect for tossing with romaine lettuce. If you need a thinner dressing add some lemon juice or water.
Sesame Oil Dressing
-
1 Tbs sesame oil
-
1 Tbs soy sauce or tamari
-
1/2 Tbs apple cider vinegar
-
1 heaping tsp homemade mustard
Whisk together then shake in a mason jar.
Creamy Tahini Dressing
-
1/2 cup tahini
-
1/3 cup freshly-squeezed lemon juice
-
1/4 cup olive oil or water
-
3 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
-
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
-
1/4 teaspoon each: salt, black pepper, cayenne
-
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Whisk together then shake in a mason jar.
Easy Vegan Caesar Dressing
-
1/4 cup plain hummus
-
1 tsp spicy mustard
-
1/2 tsp lemon zest
-
2 Tbsp lemon juice
-
2 tsp capers finely minced/smashed, plus 3 tsp brining juice
-
3 Tbsp fresh minced garlic (4-5 cloves)
-
1 healthy pinch each sea salt + pepper
-
1 Tbsp olive oil
-
2 tsp maple syrup (optional)
Whisk together.
Spice and Seed Topper
The Awesome Green

1 cup hazelnuts lightly toasted and crushed
-
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
-
2 tsp nigella seeds
-
2 tsp sesame seeds
-
1 tsp turmeric
-
1/2 tsp cinnamon
-
1/4 tsp crushed coriander seeds
-
1/4 tsp ginger powder
-
1/4 tsp garlic powder
-
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Mix and sprinkle.
Miso Dressing
-
2 tablespoons white or yellow miso
-
2 tablespoons honey
-
1 tablespoons brown rice vinegar
-
1 tablespoon mustard
Whisk.
Carrot Ginger Dressing
-
2 medium carrots
-
2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and cut into chunks (my shortcut is 1+ tbs homemade ginger turmeric paste)

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
-
2 tablespoons rice vinegar (1 tbs apple cider vinegar)
-
1 tablespoon soy sauce
-
1/2 teaspoon honey
Blend in the food processor. This is a Japanese style dressing that is more of a spread or topping, rather than a thin dressing, which is how I prefer my salad dressings. Place a large dollop on top of salad.
This is even better with orange slices on the side, or peel and chop the oranges to garnish the salad.
Balsamic Dressing

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

1 tbsp honey

1/2 tsp oregano

dash salt

1 tbs avocado oil
Whisk.
Lemon Tahini Dressing

1/2 cup tahini

2/3 to 3/4 cups water (as needed)

3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 clove garlic, minced
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
3/4 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)

Black pepper, to taste
Makes 1 1/3 cups
Sesame Tahini Dressing

1/2 cup tahini

1/2 cup water
-
2 tablespoons sesame oil

2 tablespoons tamari (or soy sauce)
-
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
-
1 tablespoon maple syrup
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon ginger, minced
Makes 1 1/4 cups
Alkalizing Vinaigrette

3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
-
2 tablespoons lime juice
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint or cilantro
-
2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup or agave nectar
-
½ teaspoon (homemade) mustard
-
¼ teaspoon salt
-
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Hemp Seed Dressing
-
½ cup Hemp seed
-
1/2 cup water (add more for thinner dressing)
-
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
-
2 tbs avocado oil
-
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
-
1/2 tbs apple cider vinegar (or less)
-
1 garlic clove
-
¼ teaspoon sea salt
-
black pepper, to taste
-
¾ teaspoon dijon mustard (or use mustard powder)
-
2 cup hulled hemp seeds
-
1/2 cup water (increase to 1+ cup)
-
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
-
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
-
1 clove garlic, peeled
-
1/4-1/2 teaspoon fine grain sea salt, to taste
Blend. Much too thick, add more water.
Cumin Vinaigrette

Light Cucumber Dressing

1/4 cup brown rice vinegar

1 tsp fresh dill

1/4 cup maple syrup
Whisk. Shake before using.
Ginger Tahini Lime

1 Tbl nutritional yeast flakes
Blend. Add fresh kaffir lime where available.
